Darton baseball ready for tough challenge

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -   The Darton College baseball team heads into their final three games of the season knowing one thing.

They have to win one more game this weekend than East Georgia College to have any hopes of making the conference tournament next week.

It is a tough task especially when you consider who Darton and East Georgia play in their final conference series.

Glenn Eames said "They have got a very good ball club. We have got our backs against the ball but at the same time if we are going to make a run at this thing we have got to beat the best teams anyway."

Game one is Friday at 7pm in Covington and the series concluded with a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

Darton is on the road against first place Georgia Perimeter.

East Georgia is in Tifton to play last place ABAC.

The odds seem to favor the Bobcats in the battle for the sixth and final seed but Darton coach Glenn Eames says the goal for his team is to win the state tournament.
