Sherwood's Mitchell waits on new job

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Sherwood Christian Academy head coach Reginald Mitchell finds out next week if he will have a new job.

Tift County principal Dr. Willie Miles told WALB News Ten sports two weeks ago that Reginald Mitchell will be recommended to be the Blue Devils defensive coordinator this season.

The Tift County school board is scheduled to vote on the recommendation at their monthly meeting next Tuesday.

Reginald Mitchell has been at Sherwood Christian for two years.

He led the Eagles to the region 3-AA title in his first season.

He was also the defensive coordinator for Dougherty High during their state runner-up season and head coach at Albany High.

Mitchell told WALB News 10 Sports that he has notified Sherwood Christian administration and his players of his expected departure.
