
ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The GHSA boys state track meet starts on Thursday in Jefferson.
The Westover High boys are expecting to contend for their third state title.
The Patriots have qualified 17 of their members for the state meet.
Head coach Lewis Smith says the team believes they can win after beating AAAA power Bainbridge at the Westover Relays last month.
Coach Lewis Smith said. "Hopefully all of this will running on these Saturdays at these invitational's, the region track meets. having great facilities to work with on every day. it is going to pay off when we go up to Jefferson.
Discus thrower Reginald Lewis said. "Allot of people have been talking about it but I am just trying to stay focused. go to Jefferson. Win state and do my best."
Westover's last team title was in 2002 in boys track.
