ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Darton College opened a critical final week with a 5-1 loss to Georgia Perimeter at Cavalier Field.
The loss puts Darton three games behind East Georgia for 6th place in the region standings.
The top six teams will qualify for the state tournament.
For Darton to have a chance to make the state tournament, the Cavaliers need to sweep Georgia Perimeter in Covington this weekend and they need ABAC to sweep East Georgia in Tifton.
Darton and Georgia Perimeter play a single game Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday.
Tuesday's game was the final home game for head coach Glenn Eames who is stepping down after this season.
