Albany Firefighters say two house fires Sunday were set by arsonists.
Investigators believe a domestic dispute led to the blaze at 814 West Residence about 5:30 Sunday morning. Firefighters say someone set a porch on fire. Two dogs were killed in the fire, but no people were hurt.
"Based on some information we got at the scene there was an ongoing domestic situation between boyfriend and girlfriend, and we think it escalated into setting the fire," said Albany Fire Chief James Carswell.
Investigators are still looking for one of the people involved in that domestic dispute.
Firefighters have also labeled a fire at 405 West Society Sunday as arson. Neighbors heard a boom then saw flames coming through the roof. The house was vacant and the electricity turned off. The caretaker of the home says vagrants have been staying there.
