After dropping into the losers bracket of the SIAC tournament the Albany State Rams were forced to play two games per day if the team had hopes of winning back to back tournament championships, but it seems all that baseball finally caught up with the Golden Rams.
ASU lost to Stillman in the championship game 3-2 at Paul Eames Park. Stillman scored with a late run in the 8th to end the Rams championships hopes. ASU came into the tournament as the 6th seed after an up and down season with not a single senior on the team. Still head coach Kenyan Conner says he's extremely proud of his team.
Conner said "I'm real proud of these guys, I really thought they showed some resiliency right here and didn't want to lose. But it's a tournament, somebody has to win and somebody has to lose we just came up on the short end but I'm definitely proud of these guys."
Williams Smalls said "We've had our ups and downs throughout this whole season but we just got back up and kept going. There wasn't no dropping back when we were down just continuing forward. We played this game so close, I'm real proud of my guys."
