PELHAM, GA (WALB) - Pelham Police office had to taze a suspected drug dealer Sunday morning after he tried to run from them during a traffic stop.

Investigator Rod Williams says officer pulled over 37-year Steven Freeman on highway 19 in Pelham for a window tent violation.

When they attempted to arrest him for driving on a suspended license, he tried to run. So they tazed him.

Officials say Freeman had 26 grams of crack cocaine in his pants pocket - just shy of the 28 grams which would have lead to drug trafficking charges.

Police charged Freeman for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
