SGA Classic continues

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  A sunny day allowed the Nationwide Tour to finally get the first round of the South Georgia Classic completed.

The second round is underway and will be finished early Saturday afternoon with the third round expected to begin later in the day.

Matthew Goggin was the first round leader at -6 and will start his second round Saturday morning.

Michael Letzig and Jon Mills are both -6 in their second round.

Brett Wetterich, Cliff Kresge and Mark Anderson have played 36 holes and all three players are -4.

Former Braves player John Smoltz struggled with a 12-over par 84 in his first round and is wanting to bounce back in his second round on Saturday.

John Smoltz said. "Got off to a really start but the delays are something you don't practice for but I'll take this round and use it for what you should use it and learn some valuable lessons."

The final round of the South Georgia Classic is scheduled to start on Sunday.
