An Albany woman is sentenced to life in prison for the murder of her ex-husband.

Monday Dougherty Superior Court Judge Willie Lockette  gave 33-year old Marlina Hamilton a life sentence that makes her eligible for parole in about 30-years.

Hamilton admitted she shot 32-year old Christopher Donaldson twice in her Habersham Road home last October 11th.

She testified he repeatedly abused her and hit her just before she shot him.

Prosecutors said she planned to shoot him.

Defense attorney Johnnie Graham claims she uncovered new evidence since the trial and will file an appeal.
