ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One Albany church held a community-wide Easter service Sunday morning.

Providence Church started its Easter service around 10:00 a.m. at the Municipal Auditorium downtown.

We were there during worship at the beginning of the service. Members say it's the first year they've done it.

With big crowds expected, they wanted to make sure they had room for everyone.

"We knew there wouldn't be enough space to have both services at our church for Easter, so we wanted to open it up to everybody" said member, Carl Gluckhert. "We got this building and we're having the service here."

A good crowd did turn out for Easter worship. The church says it hopes to hold services at the auditorium again next year.
