Shot fired in Ty Ty robbery

A gunshot was fired Friday morning as an armed robber held up a Ty Ty convenience store. Investigators searched for clues at the Holiday Market.

Officers say around 9:00, a man came into the store,  pointed a gun at the clerk, and told him to get on the ground.

The robber grabbed the cash register and fired his gun as he ran off. One customer was inside, but no one was hurt.

It's not the first time the store has been held up and some folks say they are fed up with the crime.

"I've been down here for seven years and I've been scared ever since I've gotten here. I sleep with my gun every night, and some of these people down here are dumb enough to tell you it's a peaceful quiet little town. It's not," said Ty Ty Resident Charles Lovett.

If you recognize that robber, contact the Tift County Sheriff's Office. @@@@
