The first ever Albany Area Black Expo is currently underway. It's a week long celebration of African- American culture.

From a trade show, to celebrity appearances, and workshops, organizers say it has something for everyone.

The Women of Purpose Luncheon speaker is Lynn Whitfield. She has been in several movies and TV shows like, Jaws: The Revenge, Head of State, and Matlock.

Whitfield won an Emmy for her role in The Josephine Baker story. The luncheon is from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, April 21.

On Friday, April 22 they'll have a business breakfast recognizing leaders in the community. And then on later that night a concert featuring R&B superstars Kem and Joe.

Saturday, April 23 is filled with business workshops such as; Thinking Big with Victor Powell, and Getting Your Business in order with Legal, Accounting and Insurance Advice.
