PELHAM, GA (WALB) – A Pelham police officer found meth and a homemade bomb inside a car during a traffic stop.

29-year-old Joshua Butler of Thomasville and 32-year-old Sarah Parker of Cairo were stopped Sunday for a missing tag.

Officers discovered a bag of methamphetamine and a device that contained gunpowder and buckshot.

The GBI bomb unit was called in and said that bomb could have injured anyone within 200 feet if it exploded.

Butler and Parker are charged with possession and attempt to manufacture meth.

Butler is also charged with possession of an explosive device.
