In college softball, the Albany State Lady Rams are packing their bags for what they hope to be a long stay in Columbus.
ASU will be looking for its 3rd straight SIAC Tournament championship title this week. The Lady Rams are the number four seed in the east division after a 14-12 conference record this season. The team has just 2 seniors but hopes its youth and energy will translate into a tournament 3 peat.
Head coach Robert Skinner said "We're a young team, last year's championship team had 7 seniors on it and that made al the difference in the world but we're young, we're energetic we're very ambitious"
Outfielder Domonique Bryant said "We had a hard time at the beginning but we're growing as a team and we're maturing and I feel like this year tournament time we'll be alright."
The Lady Rams will open against Miles college Thursday morning at 11a.m.
