BRONWOOD, GA (WALB) -  We have new details on the severe beating death of a Bronwood man, Jack Thomas Beasley.

The Terrell County Sheriff's Office has charged 18 year old Desmond Barnes with aggravated battery in that beating, and could file more severe charges today.

People in Bronwood tell us Beasley was beaten up Wednesday night near the S&A Food Mart and gas station in town. He died Thursday.

Investigators say the argument erupted over an incident with Barnes' girlfriend who lives next to Beasely. Beasely was severely beaten and sustain head injuries in the fight.

Several neighbors at a gas station in Bronwood knew Tommy Beasley. They say he was a kind man who kept to himself. The store manager called 911 when a woman ran inside and told him Beasely had been hurt.

"He's a nice fellow I didn't think he bothered anybody, said Manager, Hamal Patel.

Another friend who had known and worked with Beasley for almost 30 years says he always helped out at the store, and often offered people rides to Dawson.

"Tommy was a wonderful Guy," said Clarence Caldwell, Sr. "If he could help you he would. He worked for me and he was a super guy."
