ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  A Colquitt County Correctional Institute inmate escaped, but he didn't get very far.

Shortly after he scaled the fence yesterday after guards warned him not to, he was captured. Jay Allen Rogers is now charged with felony escape after going over the fence yesterday around 11:00 AM.

Guards say he did it because he wanted to be transferred to another facility and his requests had been ignored. Rogers was in the Colquitt County CI on a burglary charge. Sheriff's Officials say he will be moved to another facility, but will face more time with the additional charge.
