Cordele man seriously injured in shooting

CORDELE, GA (WALB) – A Cordele man was airlifted to a Macon Hospital Saturday night after he was shot during a fight.

33-year-old Derrick Felton and 49-year-old Frankie Jerome Johnson were fighting at a house in the 12-hundred block of north 11th street.

Police say Johnson got a gun from his truck and shot Felton in the right side.

Paramedics rushed Felton to Crisp Regional Medical Center before he was airlifted due to the severity of his wound. He remain hospitalized in stable condition.

Johnson is in the Crisp County Jail charged with aggravated assault.
