TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Former NFL and Valdosta State football great Antonio Edwards is now a head coach.
Edwards has been named head coach of the Georgia Firebirds.wards said. "In the NFL, it is more about teamwork. It is more about thinking. It is less about physical. Also about being disciplined in your techniques."
The Georgia Firebirds open the 2011 season at home February 26th against the Duval Cowboys.

The Tifton based semi-pro team is owned by Edwards college teammate Darren Teals.
The former Atlanta Falcon, who has been an assistant high school coach in Richmond, is looking forward to bringing his NFL experience to guys who play for love of the game.
