    Work is now underway to widen about two, and half miles of Carpenter Road in Tifton.When construction is complete, there will be two lanes of traffic in each direction, plus a center turn lane with curbs and gutters on both sides of the road.Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route.The work is expected to be complete in October.Copyright 2014 WALB. ALBANY, GA (WALB) –An Attapulgus woman gets jail time for her argument with a school bus driver.

42-year old Lo'Homal Gilcrest was arrested in September of 2009.

Her child had been suspended from riding the bus, and when the driver closed the bus door, Gilcrest forced it open and argued with the driver.

She was sentenced to one year each for disorderly conduct and disrupting a public school bus.
