There has been a second burglary at Phillips Pharmacy

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany pharmacy owner is improving his alarm system and putting up stronger windows, after a second break in attempt at his business in the last two months.

Someone broke the front window at Phillips Pharmacy on 7th Avenue early Monday morning, but never came into the store.

Nothing was taken. Gary Phillips said someone tried to break down the back door a couple of months ago, so he is taking steps to safeguard his business from crime.

He is replacing the glass with pexi-glass that will be break resistant, and improving his alarm system, because of the number of business burglaries he has heard about.

"Actually when I came in the police officer said it was something they see as a routine kind of situation. Several times a week. So I'm part of that statistic," Phillips said.

Phillips said the window will cost nearly $600 to replace with the break resistant pexi-glass, but hopes the extra cost will stop the break in attempts.
