ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany State Lady Rams bolted to the spot in the SIAC on Saturday with a big win over Fort Valley State.  ASU now has 4 games left before the conference tournament tips off on March 2nd.

The team was back at practice Monday to prepare for Tuesday's match up at Benedict College.  The Lady Rams beat the Lady Tigers in overtime last month and while beating Fort Valley was huge they realize the importance of each game down the stretch.

Head coach Robert Skinner said "This was a good win but the season is not over, it's far from over. So let's take this and enjoy it for the moment and then let's get ready for the next one. We are already preparing for Benedict, it's not like we're still rejoicing for Saturday's win."

Albany State guard Kourtney Alexander said "Going in first place would be big for us, it would give us an automatic bid for nationals. We're just going to try hard and bring back something most of us haven't had in a while."

The Lady Rams will finish out the regular season at Paine, at Claflin and then host Stillman on the 24th.
