ADEL, GA (WALB) – A woman who authorities say assisted her husband in a deadly Cook County armed robbery spree has been sentenced to life in prison.
Billy Jo Treadaway entered a guilty plea Friday in Cook Superior Court to being a party to a crime in two separate armed robbery cases.
Her husband Jason received a life sentence last year for stabbing James "Buster" Statum to death with an ice pick during a robbery in May 2009 at Busters Game Room in Sparks.
Investigators say the couple then robbed the Mega Mart in Adel a short time later.
Billie Jo served as the get away driver in the crimes. The Treadaway's fully confessed to the GBI.
The victim's family was present at the hearing and was pleased with the sentence handed down.
