ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Monroe track star Maikea Davis is on her way to Western Kentucky after she finishes her final season with the Lady Tornadoes track team.
Maikea Davis said. "It is shocking. I am very blessed and thankful. I just hope I can do my best and make everybody proud."
When she arrives at Western Kentucky, Maikea will be teammates with former Early County track star Nett Reed.

Davis signed her national letter of intent with the Hilltoppers Friday morning at Monroe High School.
Davis transferred to Monroe last year and was a key member of their state championship team.
She was a member of the 4 x 100 relay team and finished third in the 100 meters and placed fourth in the 200 meters.
Maikea says she can't believe she is getting the chance to run track at a Division I school.
