ATLANTA, GA (WALB) – Georgia Secretary of State, Brian Kemp, will participate in two panel discussions at the National Association of Secretaries Winter Conference in Washington, D. C. to present Georgia's Successful Photo ID and Corporate ID Theft Prevention.

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp announced Friday that he will participate in two panel discussions at the annual National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) Winter Conference on Saturday, February 12 and Sunday, February 13 in Washington, D.C.

 On Saturday, February 12, Secretary Kemp will appear on a panel titled Corporate Identity Theft - State Experiences and Proposed Solutions.

He will discuss the implementation of e-government solutions in the Secretary of State's Corporations Division, including an e-mail notification system to prevent corporate ID theft and fraud and a new Corporate ID Theft Resources website.

 On Sunday, February 13, Secretary Kemp will appear on a Voter Participation panel to present information about Georgia's successful Photo ID law for in-person voting.

Kemp's presentation will cover various facets of the Photo ID law including the voting process and the free Voter Identification Card, the agency's statewide, multi-media outreach and education campaign, and victories in against numerous legal challenges.

 Secretary Kemp said, "One of our key goals is to constantly seek new ways to implement technologies in each agency division.

Our numerous additions to the Corporations Division's functionality allow us to communicate more efficiently with businesses, reduce costs for Georgia taxpayers, and prevent corporate identity theft."

 "I am also proud that Georgia's numerous election fraud prevention laws, programs, and e-government resources, which include Photo ID for in-person voting, form a national model for election security," Kemp added.   

 Brian Kemp has been Secretary of State since January, 2010. Among the office's wide-ranging responsibilities, the Secretary of State is charged with conducting efficient and secure elections, the registration of corporations, and the regulation of securities and professional license holders.

The office also oversees the Georgia Archives and the Capitol Museum.
