ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany High School is Dougherty County's oldest school, but local leaders got a look at improvements made in the last year.
Albany High is halfway through a renovation project. Thursday, Leadership Albany members toured the school. It has new web page design and graphics classes. A T.V. studio is under construction for the media arts program. Leadership Albany is looking at how poverty affects education.
"What leadership Albany gets to do is come into a school and see classes in operation, hear from principals and school leadership and to see the kinds of emphasis we're having in different parts of the county and different schools," said R.D. Harter, Dougherty County Schools Public Information Director.
Renovations at Albany High are expected to take another year. Leadership Albany also visited and Jackson Heights Elementary.
