ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dozens of people braved the rain and cold Thursday morning to be the first to get their hands on the new Apple iPhone 4. It hit Verizon stores for the first time Thursday.
Check out the long line outside the Albany Verizon store as the doors opened early at 7:00 a.m.
Some people got in line at 4:00 Thursday morning despite the awful weather. AT& T was iPhone's exclusive carrier up until now. We talked to some pretty excited Verizon Wireless customers who've been waiting for this day for a long time!
The Albany store expects to be crowded all day but each customer will have their own service representative so you should be in and out in 10 minutes.
Verizon says they've spent 60 billion dollars on infrastructure over the last 10 years so they're prepared to handle the traffic. The new phone will also have the ability to create a personal WI-FI hotspot for it's customers.
For some of those who ordered the phone on line in advance it may take over a week for your new hot device to arrive at your home.
