ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany woman is on her way to jail right now charged with falsely reporting she was raped Wednesday morning.

A manhunt was launched after Jaques Williams reported she was raped at the Superior Creek Lodge Motel on North Slappey.

But just moments ago police charged her with making false statements and false report of a crime.

Investigators believe the suspect's name is Darius.

Just after noon the 20-year old woman at Superior Creek Lodge on North Slappey reported that a man raped her in her room.

While paramedics treated the woman, Albany Police and Gang Unit officers searched the area they believed the suspected rapist was headed.

The field behind businesses in the 18-hundred block of Slappey was one area they focused on.
