ALBANY, GA (WALB) - About three dozen people have applied to be the next manager of the city of Albany.  As of last Friday, 35 people sent in applications to Colin Baenziger and Associates, that's the consulting firm that's handling the search for the city.

The opening closes this Friday, and screenings will immediately begin.  Interviews with viable candidates will take place the first and second of April, with a selection made soon after.

Albany's current city manager is still job hunting.  Al Lott is one of two finalists for the city manager's position in Savannah, but some city leaders were upset after finding out Lott is being sued by a former Albany employee who now works for the city of Savannah.

The council is meeting Thursday to decide how to move forward with their search.
