ALBANY, GA (WALB) - More than 20 business leaders and executives are in Albany this week for one of the state's biggest economic development attractions.
Visitors to the 23rd Annual Georgia Quail Hunt loaded up Wednesday morning for three days of hunts on six premier South Georgia quail hunting plantations.
The business and industry decision-makers hunt and enjoy Southern hospitality and hopefully are convinced to move jobs and commerce to Georgia.
Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission's Barbara Rivera Holmes said "A 2009 guest of the Georgia Quail Hunt was Coats and Clark. And in 2010 Coats and Clark consolidated all of it's North American distribution operations to Albany. So they invested in the community with a building, expansion, and new jobs."
Wednesday night Governor Nathan Deal will meet with the business leaders and Thursday night Lt. Governor Casey Cagle will be the special guest.
