VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Moody Air Force Base broke ground on a new headquarters for the 93rd Air Ground Operation Wing and 23rd Mission Support Group.

The new 36,000 square foot building will be next door to the 23rd Wing Headquarters building and will look similar to it.

Commanders' offices and the command post will also be housed there. Moody leaders and contractors kicked off construction of the $10,000,000 project Tuesday.

"A lot of times we spend an enormous amount of time designing, thinking about them planning, them getting ready for them contracting them, and then you get a chance to build it, and that's the exciting time, to see them come out of the ground, and go up. This will be a substantial building," said William Bryan, Moody AFB Chief Engineer.

The building to be completed in a year and a half. It will also include the Public Affairs, Area Defense Counsel, Information Protection, and several other offices.
