OCHLOCKNEE, GA (WALB) –A train bound for the Camilla ethanol plant derailed in Ochlocknee today. The train was moving very slowly as it ran parallel to Lockerman road a little after 11:00am Monday morning.

Witnesses say rail cars began tipping and spilling corn and then four cars ran off the tracks. The 65 car train was hauling nearly seven thousand tons of corn to be converted into Ethanol.

No one was injured.

"It just tipped over, when the rail broke you could hear the bang bang it sounded like thunder or a shotgun," said Dana McDonald, who witnessed the incident.

Railroad officials have been working on tracks near the scene of the accident, and an eyewitness we spoke with said they were out working on the tracks yesterday before the derailment occurred.

The exact cause is not known.
