ATKINSON COUNTY, GA (WALB) –The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Atkinson County.

Just before four Sunday, 31-year old Edgar Cuello was driving on Spikes Road in a pick up truck.

He ran off the road overturned, hit some trees and landed in a creek.

Cuello and his mother-in-law Marisela Quintailla were both thrown out of the truck.

Cuello was airlifted to Shand's hospital in Jacksonville where he died.

Quintailla is at Savannah Memorial Hosptial.

Neither was wearing a seat belt. Troopers believe Cuello had been drinking.
