ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A six year old Mitchell County boy remains in the Intensive Care Unit a the Medical Center of Central Georgia after being mauled by a neighbor's dog Friday.

Dylan Spinks' grandfather says the boy is able to talk. Mitchell County Sheriff's Investigators have not filed any charges. They have not yet interviewed the Spinks family or the dog's owner, Keith Pate. Neighbors tell us Pate was moving and left the dog behind under a neighbor's care and planned to come back for the dog.

The family credits a seven year old neighbor with saving Dylan's life. Animal Control officers will keep the dog in quarantine for 10 days. So far, they have not observed aggressive behavior in the dog. Dylan's grandfather says he'd like to see the dog euthanized.
