ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A Baconton teenager is charged with giving investigators a false report after he shot himself in the shoulder.

Because the 14-year-old faces juvenile charges, investigators aren't releasing his name.

He was treated at Palmyra Medical Center Saturday and released.

The teen originally told his grandmother and investigators he'd been shot by someone.

Later he confessed he was showing the .44 caliber gun to friends when he accidentally fired it.

The bullet went through his shoulder.
