Deputy wrecks in rain

ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Wet, slick roads are to blame for a crash involving a Colquitt County Deputy Sunday night in Colquitt County.

The deputy was responding to a back up call as was leaving Doerun on Highway 133 when his car slid on the wet pavement and collided with a utility pole.

The force of the crash was enough to set off the cruiser's airbag.

Investigators say the deputy received bumps and bruises from the airbag going off, but was otherwise okay.

The damage to the cruiser was extensive enough to total the car.
