ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A Bible studies teacher who used to work at Sherwood Christian Academy will serve two years for child molestation.

35 year old Shawn Baxley accepted a plea deal Monday morning, but denies guilt.

He was sentenced to serve two years of a 20 year sentence. He is banished from Dougherty County, and its contiguous counties for the 20 year term. He must also be registered as a sex offender.

Baxley, who was fired from Sherwood, was accused of inappropriately touching a teenage girl who was not his student in May 2008.

The victim says he touched her, but it wasn't until March 2010 that she told a friend, who told school leaders, and they called law officers.
