ALBANY, GA (WALB)- A former Westover hoops standout is doing what he can to give back to a city that he says has done so much for him.
Ravii Givens has started the Go Hard Training program geared at providing basketball training and academic support for children in and around the Albany area. He held a free basketball camp at the Lockett Station Community Center on Saturday in Albany.
The children were taught all of the basketball basics as well as the importance of team work. They kids were also treated to some free food, Givens says it feels good to see the children engaged in the camp.
Givens said "It feels good, like I said, to give back to a city that helped raise me, help me love this game. So it defiantly feels good. I feel like I have a lot of knowledge about the game. So I'm willing to give back and see kids grow up and reach their full potential."
