ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany woman says she'll take her case to the jury, rather than pleading guilty to burning a child with an iron.

Shenickole West admits she threatened her son with a hot clothes iron in December 2008, but she says she didn't hold the iron to his arm...and that his burns were an accident.

The judge ruled that if that's her story, she can't plead guilty.  So she'll stand trial on two counts of aggravated assault.  She's out of jail on bond and the child still lives in the house with her.
