ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Albany's Water, Gas, and Light Commission added a new board member Thursday.

John Gary was sworn in to replace Commodore Conyers who reached his term limit on the board. Each appointed member can serve three two-year terms. Gary told us he's pleased to serve.

"I'm glad to be on it, the board, I'm an original resident from here, I was born and raised here and I would like to help the residents of my home here," said John Gary, New WG&L Board Member.

John Gary returned to Albany after teaching for 25 years in California.
