LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A father and his two boys are at home safe after rescue crews got ready for a full on water search Sunday night.

The trio put their boat in the Kinchafoonee Creek just north of Leesburg around 4:30 p.m. The man's wife called police because she couldn't get in touch with them after dark and feared they were lost.

By the time Sheriff's deputies, firefighters, a GSP chopper, a dive team, and EMS crews arrived at the Highway 32 bridge...the three arrived around 9:00 p.m..

They were found a couple miles away from where they originally put their boat in at Pinewood.
