ALBANY, GA (WALB) -The Georgia Bulldog nation was all smiles on Thursday as two of South Georgia's top high school football prospects chose Athens as their next stop to play football.
Valdosta High's Jay Rome and Malcolm Mitchell announced that will join Mark Richt next season at Georgia. Both claimed that staying in state was a top priority.
Rome said "Just at the end of the day I wanted to stay home, stay in state and get all the in-state love. Bulldog fans, I know a lot of you been heckling me on facebook every chance you get so I'm just giving you what you want. Jay Rome is going to Georgia."
Mitchell said "Those two clicked harder than anyone else, Alabama and Georgia. It was a tough decision, I think what I did what's right."
