ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Students can learn a lot at attractions here in Albany. Thursday evening, folks from those attractions spread that word to teachers.

Chehaw's Education Center hosted an open house for teachers.

Representatives from area cultural facilities talked to them about field trips and other educational opportunities.

"A lot of people think you have to travel really far to Atlanta for a great field trip but we have facilities like the Albany Museum of Art, Flint Riverquarium, Chehaw, and the Civil Rights Museum, there are so many things going on here and people have to only go 15 to 20 minutes away," said Jackie Entz, Chehaw's Education Coordinator.

Teachers from surrounding counties to the open house as the Albany attractions work together to try to bring in more school groups.
