ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Senator Saxby Chambliss says the Senate will vote on the bill to repeal the national health care law, even though Senate Democrats say they won't bring the bill to the floor.
Yesterday the House voted to repeal the health care overhaul.
Thursday in Albany, Senator Saxby Chambliss told South Georgians the law should be repealed. And he said he's sure Senators will get a vote.
Chambliss said "This monstrosity of a healthcare bill is going to drag down the economy of the United States more so than the recession than we've been through, and are coming out of. Or any other economic influence on our economy."
Chambliss said Republicans want to repeal the Obama healthcare law, and replace it with a better plan that will provide healthcare to the uninsured and people with pre-existing conditions, but not at such an extreme cost. Democrats and the Congressional budget office say the health reform law will actually decrease the deficit.
