SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -  The Sylvester community remembered Dr. King, honored a community volunteer, and helped people in need.

Folks packed First African Baptist Church for a King Day service Monday night. People enjoyed music and speeches from pastors around the area and honored the late Leila Walker for her service to Sylvester.

Walker's daughter told us her mom organized this MLK celebration every year since 1986. Volunteers also gave out food baskets to families in need.
