BERRIEN COUNTY, GA (WALB) –A Berrien County teenager is being treated for serious burns Monday at the burn center in Augusta.

17-year old Jamey Purvis an 11th grade wrestler at Berrien High School, was severely burned Saturday afternoon.

Investigators don't know what happened, but the teen was burned when a gas can exploded on Ed Purvis Road in Berrien County.

His legs are severely burned. Paramedics rushed him to Tift Regional Hospital then he was airlifted to the burn center in Augusta.
