ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Monday was a day of service in Martin Luther King, Junior's memory for Georgia Power employees

More than 30 employees started volunteering at the Flint Riverquarium at 8:00AM. The water inside the Gulf of Mexico tanks got a little murky as volunteer divers cleaned the tank.

Employees also trimmed branches outside the Riverquarium, though rain showers put a damper on the work.

"We finished the inside tasks up completely, but there were some outside work that needed to be done. We've touched based with Richard and we've made a commitment to come back, some of us to come back and finish up the activity that we've begun," said Plant Mitchell Plant Manager Ronnie Walston.

The volunteer crews got all of the inside clean up and repairs done and finished about 70% of the outside work.
