PERRY, FL (WALB) – A South Georgia fugitive charged with murder was captured this morning in North Florida.
37-year-old John Woods of Ray City was spotted at a bus station this morning in Perry, Florida by someone who recognized him from pictures they had seen on the news. Authorities arrested him without incident.
He had been on the run since late December after removing his ankle monitor bracelet. He was under house arrest white awaiting trial for the 2009 murder of Travis Sauls.
Woods in the Taylor County Jail awaiting extradition.
