EDC Senior V.P. earns committee chair with GEDA

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  An Albany economic development leader has a new leadership position with the Georgia Economic Developers Association.

Albany Dougherty Economic Development Commission Senior Vice President Andrea Schruijer was named the Special Service Awards committee chairperson. Schruijer says the committee is already working to change the way the GEDA offers those annual awards that allow regions to sell their high points.

"It's a good marketing tool and it really recognizes the project and what a community had to do over come obstacles to win the project and the job so it's a good recognition, good marking tool for the individual communities," said Andrea Schruijer, Sr. V.P. of Economic Development.

The Georgia Economic Developers Association allows each Economic Development Commission to share ideas on how to better market a community to businesses.
