ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A new chairman will lead the Dougherty County School board at its first meeting of the year Monday.

Board members elected James Bush as chairman in a four to three vote. In a five to two vote,  they chose Dr. Anita Williams-Brown as vice chair.

Reverend Bush talked to us about some of his goals for students.

He looks forward to working with board members and Superintendent Murfree to increase the graduation rate.

New board members Carol Tharin and Darrell Ealum were also sworn in.
