ALBANY, GA (WALB) –We now know the name of the man who was hit and killed by a tractor trailer when he stepped into traffic on a south Georgia Highway.
Shortly after 7pm Thursday night, an Irwin County deputy pulled over on Georgia Highway 32 at Lotus Road to check a car on the side of the road.
That's when the driver, 53 year old Rickey Lamar Harrell of Douglas stepped into the path of a tractor trailer and was killed.
Troopers say the truck was loaded with carpet yarns.
